This ammo is M43 spec with a mild steel core, and has a copper washed case. I acquired this ammo around 2009 from a man I met at a gunshow in Kansas City, and held it ever since, moved it a few times, and it is time to sell it for its collector value. The man who sold it to me told me he was an importer of Chinese 7.62x39 ammo in the 1980s and early 1990s. I was told this Soviet built ammo came in a shipment of Chinese made ammo he imported in the 1980s. He told me that this was the ammo the Soviets supplied to the Chinese in the mid 1950s when the Chinese were developing the type 56 rifle and was used for factory testing. When he found out it was not Chinese, he held it back for almost 20 years to sell later as part of his 'retirement plan'. I bought all that he had in one deal and have held it here since then.
