We saw demand for ammo rise 30% to 35% in September compared to the averages we saw during the summer slow season, and extra strong sales this past week. We also see many manufacturers eager to raise prices to offset increased costs of copper raw materials and begin to pass on tariff related costs. We expect to see several major manufacturers raise prices on ammo this month of October and increases in our cost on several brands of ammo have already happened. For now, we are holding last month’s prices for our customers, and plan to hold there until we have full understanding of the increases in cost, after which some adjustments will be required. Weak consumer demand in the past 5 months and large surpluses of inventory will make price increases a challenge for the ammo industry, but major factors have pushed up on manufacturing costs, and eventually that creates an unavoidable increase in cost to the consumer. In my opinion, it would be wise to look at what you need and stock up while prices are still down in the retail market.
