This is a great round overall. Powerful, accurate and reliable and relatively cheap. The only issue is in older Glocks with the 90 degree extractor it has issues ejecting a live round due to overall length. It feeds, fires and ejects 100% but ejecting a live round at the end of a day gets caught in the ejection port. So far it has happened to a 1988 Gen 1 G17 and a early 1990's Gen 2 17. In newer Glocks it ejects the live round just fine. I assume Speer pushed these out in overall length as far as they could because of the high pressures. Perhaps this is one of the reasons Glock changed there ejection port style...
I have tested this ammunition in both the Glock 19, 17, and 34 models. Accuracy in all models was excellent, producing groups as tight as 1.25" at ranges of 15 yards, and even tighter at 7 yards to 3 yards (simulating common SD scenarios). Gelatin testing that I have reviewed shows this round performs well even after passing through 4 layers of denium, and expanding uniformly. When the US Border Patrol briefly carried the 9mm +P+ it was determined that a .36 caliber round needed to produce over 400 foot pounds of energy to reliably expand. This round achieves that level of performance and then some. With the bonded Gold Dot bullet it will naturally perform well after passing through barriers. In comparison to other calibers a shooter can pretty much duplicate the performance of the 110 grain .357 Magnum carried by the US Border Patrol and the US Marshall Service when revolvers reigned (back in my time as a police officer). With the advanced bullet design offered by the Gold Dot one can expect enhanced performance in tactical situations. When I carry a 9mm, this is one of the two loads I choose to carry for top performance.
